Composite fatigue testing

ISO 13001 /ASTM D3479

We offer fatigue loading in a wide range of load levels:
0-2500N, 1-50kN, 2-100kN, 5-500kN
Our largest test frame is able to accept components up to a length of 1000mm.

Fatigue Testing under different temperatures?

Yes!
We perform fatigue loadings in controlled climates spanning from
-125 to 300 degree C.
Standardized fatigue test methods covered include both tensile and 3-4 point bending.

Tension-Tension Fatigue of Polymer Matrix Composite Materials (ISO 13003)

Our team covers all aspects of determining the S-N curves of composite materials. We cover all aspects of tension-tension fatigue loading, whether load- or strain controlled:
– Panel manufacture in full compliance with customer specific lamination processes with full traceability.
– Specimen extraction using water jet cutting or machining.
– Tab manufacturing and tabbing.
– Instrumentation and testing.
– Data analysis, statistics (ASTM E739) and reporting in full compliance with both standards and customer specific requirements.

Mode 2, Fatigue Crack Propagation

In addition to 3-4 point bending in fatigue, we have developed an automated crack propagation monitoring system.
This test method is particularly useful in the evaluation of laminate crack development/arresting characteristics.
These characteristics are typically influenced by:
– Choice of resin.
– Cure scheme.
– Use of binders for preforming.
The method is also advantageous in the evaluation of adhesively bonded assemblies.
