Static Compression Testing

ISO 604

Static compression test, ISO 604, is a test method used to determine the compressive performance of plastic materials, such as adhesives and resin materials by determining the maximum compressive load at which the specimen fails.

When to use Static Compression Testing?

This test is commonly used to evaluate the mechanical properties of plastic materials in industrial and aerospace applications and can be used to evaluate specimens with different shapes and sizes, and with different thicknesses.

The ISO 604 standard describes the procedures, equipment and materials required, test conditions and data analysis.

In AeroNordic, the typical application of the method is on adhesives, liquid shim and sandwich more materials.
